The Director of Player Wellness will ensure that all players are educated about the Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse and the Policy and Procedures on Anabolic Steroids and Related Substances (“Policies”). He or she has the primary responsibility of helping ensure the mental wellness of players. The Director of Player Wellness will identify players in need of mental health support and provide referrals to appropriate services for the player and family as needed. He or she will also work with NFLPA staff counsel to ensure that all player rights are protected under the above policies.
