Airbnb has become the new way to stay, allowing users to stay in unique accommodations – and rent out their own homes – all over the globe. You can now find Airbnb accommodations in over 34,000 cities and 190 countries.
Airbnb is currently accepting multiple applications for their Economic Policy Group, which focuses on cutting edge economic topics and policy. The ideal candidate for this role would be anyone with a fresh PhD to seven years experience in the field.
The Data Scientist will work closely with the public policy, government relations and legal teams at Airbnb, along with the many data scientists who are in the same parent group. An ideal outcome for research would include internal learning, action taken as a result of the research, and (where appropriate) an external publication. The scope of work will include high-impact topics, including housing and rental prices, taxation, economic spillover to the local economy, relationship to the hotel industry, as well as many topics related to the design of the Airbnb marketplace. Candidates should be able to operate independently and drive their own agenda, but also work well with the team and partners throughout the organization.
